I love to embroider.
I especially love vintage designs
and patterns.
I recently finished stitching this
60's-70's ish Mushroom design.
I am just over the moon with how
it turned out.
I found the pattern Here.
It is a free download.
Isn't it just gorgeous?
Vintage patterns- the best.
It was so fun to stitch.
Instead of framing my piece I went with a large
hoop. I enjoy "Hoop Art" as its being called.
I went with a brown back round cotton fabric,
instead of the usual white or cream.
I love how the bright colors really pop.
I chose my own floss color pallet.
I finally organized my floss by colors.
ahh...color, so dreamy.
I also chose my own stitches.
I did a version of straight and seed stitch.
I used my favorite, triple french knot,
And of course I did some lazy daisy stitches too.
For a finished look, I wrapped my hoop
in a mustard fabric.
FYI, I traced my pattern using my window
as light box, like I did here. I just use pencil.
It's fun having a new piece to hang in our home.
He is good friends now with my other stitched pieces.
Tootles.
Adorable!! Love all the pretty colors, and wrapping the hoop!! So cute! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteLove the hoop art! And you made a 70s pattern look modern with your colors. :) Woodland art is the new-old-thing, isn't it?
