Vintage Valentines Stitching

Here is a cute little vintage stitching project
sure to brighten and spruce up
your Valentines \ February Decor.

I printed off the free pattern here, from Needlecrafter,
my absolute fav place for vintage embroidery patterns.

I traced my pattern using natural light,
and I prefer pencil tracing.
But do it however you like.
I used muslin for my fabric.

Ignore my dirty windows:(

Then I stitched away.
The paper pattern gives you
color and stitch guide, but
I chose all my own stitches and colors.
I also chose to fill in my "v" in with solid red
to make it stand out.  I used a satin stitch.

2 of my girls were stitching along,
with their own projects.

It's so endearing for me,
to be doing handiwork together with my girls.
Teaching handiwork skills is an integral part
of our home learning.  I keep the projects
simple, but increase the skill challenge, as
each of my gals ages and shows more interest.

Here she is all finished.

I put my finished piece, in a vintage metal hoop.
I'm always picking these types of hoops up at
the thrift store. They just have a little spring
on the side, that adjusts to your fabric thickness.
They are great.

I displayed my handiwork, in my February Mantel.
Go check it out.  It looks sweet.

I hope you give this easy little project a try.
It is so cute and simple.

Tootles.
