Garden Planning Time

I know its hard to think about gardening
when its freezing our snowing out.
But this is the time of the year to
start planning what you want to grow
and order your seeds.

I love getting my seed catalogs in the
mail and making a wish list of what we'll grow,
and learn about new plant material.

I get out my tabs and mark all the yummy
things I want to grow.

It so much more fun to look at a real catalog,
instead of on-line.
The kids love looking through them
too and learning all about veggies.
Its a great time to teach the kiddos
all about gardening and get them
excited for planting season.

Here are a few of my favorite
seed catalogs.
They'll send you free catalogs.

I've ordered from all of these
places and have had great gardens by their seeds.

I also love looking through my vintage gardening
books. Here are a few fun vintage images
for you to enjoy.

mowing or trimming tips anyone....

I also spend time organizing my old
seeds and seeing what I have.
I'll be ordering seeds in the next few
weeks, and some seeds I will start inside
in February.  They will be ready to put outside
by April.  Spring will be here before you know it.
Yipee!

I hope you thinking about your garden,
whether it be container or on a larger scale.
Planning can make for a good crop.
Get planning.

Tootles.
